Money date No. 17: Finally making some changes
Small cuts, good news and surviving impending burnout
I had a delightful call with my publishing team this week, where I learned You Don’t Need a Budget had a really successful launch! Thank you so much to everyone who bought it, requested it at your library, told your friends about it, shared my posts about it, posted a review, everything. It’s been an exhausting month for a million reasons, but telling people about this book is something I’m happy to give my energy to, and your support makes it very worth it. We’ve gotten the book in front of thousands of readers — let’s reach thousands more this year!
This week, in light of choosing simplicity as resistance against fascism, I’m finally radically rethinking my money. I knew after the election this was coming, but I took a few months to ease out of depending on comfort and into accepting the dire state of our society and opting out of it as much as possible. I’m happy to finally see some movement in my money map, and I’m excited (if nervous!) for the big changes to come.
💡 Inspired by a Healthy Rich contributor, a money date is an exercise I crafted for You Don’t Need a Budget. Subscribers can follow along in a private space after the paywall, and I encourage you to steal my questions to guide your own reflections!
