Really looking forward to your book! This year, while on a self-funded personal sabbatical, I’ve been changing my approach with money from “covering my eyes and trying not to think about it” to something more proactive. Your newsletter has reduced fear and shame around the topic. Part of my avoidance also stemmed from feeling like traditional personal finance was so out of alignment with my beliefs and values. It’s refreshing to read writing asking thoughtful questions about the larger structural issues that impact our relationship with money.
Primarily burnout, but so many reasons! I had worked in government for seven years, and daydreamed about more hands-on work in less of a 9-5 structure. The pandemic really disrupted my development of a sense of community in my mid-20s. I had previously considered taking time off, and didn't do so due to financial and health insurance-related fears. I had found myself on a path that I was increasingly unsure of, and I wanted a hard reset. I'm about 9 months in -- I am in a completely different headspace, but still feel like I have so much to figure out!
Thank you! The book is for anyone who hasn’t felt served by conventional financial advice, but my personal perspective is very much speaking to other working class folks.

Thank you! I’m so happy to hear it’s helping, and I hope the book takes you even deeper.
What prompted you to take a sabbatical?
