Money Date No. 11: Fish fry, fundraisers and fighting fascism
And don’t forget to vote next Tuesday!
U.S. folks: Four days until election day! If you haven’t already voted, find out where and when you can vote before Tuesday — we need you!!
If you’re on the fence about voting because neither presidential candidate aligns fully with your values, watch this message from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And please remember that your ballot is full of candidates who aren’t running for president, and they have an enormous impact on life in your community, especially for the most vulnerable people.
It’s tough to segue into me from that… this is really a moment where I’m looking outside of myself. In politics, I’m thinking about the impact of our increasingly fascist opposition, about the audience we’re trying to reach with vital messaging, about how my actions this year will effect people I don’t know for generations to come. In work, I’m beginning to experience feedback on my book from the general population and take in what my ideas mean to people outside of my own head.
But we have to keep living day to day, too. This bi-weekly exercise is a good time to turn the lens back on myself and see how things are going in the midst of all of these grander pursuits.
