I have watched Schitt’s Creek in its entirety several times and it never fails to make me laugh. It’s just the antidote for finding levity in this unstable world we find ourselves in. I mean, what’s not to love about Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, and the rest of the cast?!
Choosing joy and silliness should DEFINITELY be a priority right now. My cat Jinx helps a lot. Just watching him do silly things around the house lifts my mood. Staying FAR AWAY from the news helps, staying informed just enough to know what my next move should be. Searching for local farms to get locally grown produce has been pretty joyful. I pretty much watch HGTV specifically, House Hunters, old black and white movies, and rewatch the Twilight Zone series every chance I get.
I love all of this! I'm also keeping the news at arm's length. I love that your silly cat gives you joy! My partner has started to think about a dog, something we never thought we'd want... but this could change our mind. It could do us some good to have "someone" in the house who just wants to love and have fun and not be stressed all the time.
Thank you so much for subscribing to my “embracing micro” newsletter and for the shout out. It means more than you know! I look forward to connecting more in the future.
Exploring primal movement is what provides the most silliness to me those days. There is something in trying to move my body in new ways that is utterly enjoyable, oscillating between the owe at what my body can do and the laugh at all the things it cannot do yet (and for some things probably ever). It reminds me to not take myself too seriously
This sounds wonderful! Not equating these, but the "oscillation" reminds me of playing Twister with my tiny nieces and nephews — loving what my 38-year-old body can still do and learning to laugh at what it no longer can do 🙃
I also wanted to share that I was just at my local bookstore yesterday and your book really stood out to me! I have never heard of it before, it feels very synchronistic. It will be my next read for sure!

dance parties, comfort movies / shows / playlists, and something that always brings me joy is putting party hats on objects and pictures 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
It brings me joy to imagine this in your house! 😄
